Who We Are

Located in the heart of Galway City, Whitehall Medical Centre aims to provide excellence in medical care in a modern and friendly environment. We are a city centre practice providing GP care to both Galway residents and visitors for the past forty years. We provide general practice services to private and medical card patients. New patients are welcome.

Dr Enda Devitt

Enda graduated from NUIG in 2001 and following this underwent surgical training and completed his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He subsequently completed his training in General Practice and obtained further post graduate diplomas in Dermatology, Paediatrics and Medicine for the Elderly as well as Orthopaedic and Rheumatological Medicine. Enda joined Whitehall Medical Centre in 2009 and has special interests in Concussion, Community Surgery, Dermatology, Cryotherapy and Sports Injuries. Enda has been team doctor with Galway Senior Football since 2011 and Connacht Rugby Medical Officer since 2018. He was appointed clinical lead with UPMC Concussion network in Ireland in June 2018. Dr. Devitt deals with concussion assessment and rehabilitation management. Enda accepts referrals for concussion from all around Ireland and is involved in promoting education of management of the injury with sporting bodies and medical practitioners.

John is from Cork and Graduated in Medicine from UCC IN 1989. He completed the Western GP
Training Scheme in 1993 and has worked as a GP in Whitehall since 1994. John has an interest in Medical Education and is a GP trainer. He has a specialist interest in the management of diabetes and hypertension.

ciara curran

Dr Ciara Curran

Dr Curran graduated as a GP from the HSE Western GP Training Programme and was awarded
Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2014. She also has a special interest in
the health of women and children and has been awarded Diplomas in Women’s Health and Child
Health; Certificate in Family Planning and has completed sexual health courses. Being a mom of four she has a special interest in children.
She also has an interest in medical education; has completed the Diploma in Clinical Education and has taught in undergraduate and postgraduate general practice curricula. She recently completed a PhD in measuring and improving patient safety in general practice in Ireland and has a keen interest in quality improvement with the aim of delivering high quality safe care to patients.

Sarah has over 13 years’ experience in Practice Nursing having qualified with a degree in Nursing Studies in 2000 from NUIG and then went onto qualify as a registered midwife from NUIG.

Ashleigh graduated from NUIG in 2017 with a degree in Bachelor of Nursing Science. She worked in Haematology & Oncology for 2 years before joining general practice in 2019.

Dr. John Martin

John is a Galway native and graduated from NUIG in 2018. He completed his internship in University Hospital Waterford. He worked in western Australia in acute medicine and psychiatry, returning to Waterford in March 2020. He is in final year of the western GP training scheme having completed rotations in University Hospital Galway, Mayo University Hospital and general practice.

Dr. Laura Moran

Originally from Galway, Laura initially studied science at NUIG and worked in clinical science before deciding to return to university to pursue a degree in Medicine at UCD. Upon graduating in 2019, she worked in various specialties in Galway, Castlebar and Sligo University Hospitals. She is now in the final year of her General Practice training

Dr. Maryanne Breen

Maryanne studied medicine at the graduate medical school in the University of Limerick, graduating in 2017. Prior to this, she had obtained bachelor of science in NUI Galway. She completed her intern year in St James’s Hospital Dublin in 2018. She then worked in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Coombe Women and Children’s Hospital Dublin for a time before beginning training as a GP. She is on the western GP training programme.
